The Chair Affair (Part 2)

Our Behind-the-Sets Series

Let’s talk about the chairs.

Because in boudoir, they’re not just furniture — they’re framing tools, posing support, and sometimes the perfect excuse to arch your back and feel like the goddess you forgot you were.

We have a pretty serious chair collection here at the studio. And no, not a single one was chosen by accident. Each one serves a different purpose depending on the vibe of the session, the outfit you bring, and the kind of energy we want to bring out in your gallery.

The Right Chair for the Right Mood

When you come in for your session, we go through your outfits together. What you choose helps us decide everything else — including which chair is going to bring the whole scene to life.

A structured black lace bodysuit? That might pair perfectly with our bold masculine leather chair and deep shadows for something strong and sultry.

Soft neutrals or pastels? We might reach for our vintage wooden and leather chair, paired with golden light and bare skin for that effortless, timeless look.

If you're bringing color — maybe rich greens or dusty rose — we’ll consider our wingback chairs in teal or powder blue to bring softness and shape into the frame.

We Don’t Just Sit in Chairs

One thing you’ll learn quickly during your session: the chair isn’t the only thing doing the work — you are.

We use chairs to create curves, angles, and depth. Sometimes you're sitting in them, sometimes you're draped across the back, straddling the edge, kneeling behind, or leaning over with just your fingertips touching the seat.

Each pose is intentional, and we walk you through every movement so you don’t have to overthink it.

Our Chair Lineup (Current Studio Favorites)

Here’s what you might see (and pose with) at your session:

  • 🖤 The Large Masculine Black Leather Chair
Our most powerful piece. Works best for bold, body-hugging outfits or lingerie with strong lines.

  • 🖤 The Staple Small Black Chair
We use this one for specific poses that highlight the waist, hips, and legs. She’s classic for a reason.

  • 💙 The Blue & Teal Wingbacks
These give a romantic, editorial look — perfect for flowy pieces, lacy sets, or even nothing at all.

  • 🤎 The Vintage Wood + Leather Chair
A favorite for its warm tones and old-world feel. Ideal for minimalist or earthy looks.

A Real Example

This shot is from one of our couples sessions — and it’s a perfect example of how we use chairs not just for posing, but for storytelling.

We chose the masculine black leather chair for its strength and simplicity. It anchored the scene, gave him a place to connect physically with her, and gave her the spotlight. The styling was clean, bold, and intimate — and the chair supported the whole vibe without stealing it.

We used the oversized mirror to pull in more emotion and depth, letting them see each other (and themselves) in a new light. The result was powerful, sensual, and totally connected.

The Takeaway

You don’t need to know how to pose. You don’t need to know what chair you want to use.

We read your wardrobe, your energy, and your comfort level — and then we build the scene. You just show up and let us guide you through it.

Next up in the series: couches. (And yes, the red velvet one is as good as it sounds.)

Until then, keep dreaming about your session. We’re already planning the perfect seat for you.

XOXO,
Lindsey
