Featured Girl Friday - Miss S
Our Featured Adore Girl this week, Miss S, has been photographed in both our Nashville and Murfreesboro studios! This week, we are excited to show you her latest boudoir session, which was shot at Music City Boudoir.
Miss S is a 48 year-old bombshell who has lived in Nashville for the last 15 years. She was born and raised in New York, and then moved to Florida later in life. She has been married since 1996, and has 2 kiddos in college. Miss S has been in the radiology field for 28 years - exclusively doing mammograms for the last 15. She loves yoga, hiking, family game nights, and axe-throwing! She can frequently be found at a local vineyard. Miss S says that her proudest accomplishment is her family. “I came from poverty and my hubby and I work hard every day to help our children have things that we didn’t have growing up. Also, having a happy marriage of over 20 years has been hard work, but has paid off!”
Prior to booking, what hesitations did you have about a boudoir shoot?
“I was nervous that I was ‘too old’ or ‘didn't look the part’. Also, the cost of spending so much money on something ‘selfish’. My first shoot was for my husband's 50th birthday. I had been ‘mom’ for so long, that I wanted him to remember that I was still his wife!”
What specifically made you give us a call?
“My husband had hinted, over the 20+ years of marriage, that he would like me to have boudoir photos taken. I always laughed at him and brushed it off. I thought that I never could get the courage to take the leap until I started following The Adore Girls Facebook page. The photos are art! So tasteful and sexy! A co-worker had a session and I saw her photos and knew I had to do it, too!”
Was your session a gift for anyone special? Or was this one just for you?
“I initially did the session for my husband's 50th birthday. He had always told me that I was sexy and I knew he would love pictures of me. I just didn't know that it would make me feel empowered as a woman. So I have done other sessions just for me! (although, hubby still enjoys getting the photos of me).”
How did your session with The Adore Girls differ from what you were expecting before entering our studio?
“I was, of course, nervous when I arrived. Right from the first few minutes, I started to relax. During the hair and make-up, I began to calm down, then after just seeing the head-shots, I felt Fierce! These women make you feel amazing!!! It is such a fun and uplifting experience! Then I saw the photos a few weeks later and I couldn't believe that was me!”
How did your session impact you as a woman?
“I had been ‘mom’ for 20 years. This experience made me remember S.... a sexy woman, a wife, a lover. I think, as women, we get caught up doing everything for others that we forget ourselves. My shoot helped me reconnect to myself as an independent woman; not just mom and wife. Just ME again.”
What was your favorite part of the boudoir experience?
“The best part of the session was the ‘girl power’ atmosphere. You cannot be around Courtney and Jamie without knowing that women rock! It's amazing to be in an atmosphere where women lift each other up, not bring each other down!“
If you could give advice to a woman who was on the fence about booking a session, what would you tell her?
“I have shown off my photos to more of my friends than I probably would like to admit! It's to show them how amazing having a session with The Adore Girls can be! They make you feel and look so darn sexy! I encourage all women to have a session! It is seriously life changing! I am not 25 years old anymore, I have had children, I have had a more ‘toned body’ etc... I could go on and on, but I am worthy of feeling beautiful and spoiling myself (and my hubby). I highly recommend that ALL women value themselves enough to do something crazy and extravagant for themselves, like an Adore Girl photo shoot! You deserve it!”
