Featured Girl Friday - Miss K
Miss K came to our studio to celebrate an upcoming milestone in her life, but left celebrating so much more! We are inspired by her story, and know you'll love her as much as we do!
Miss K is a 36 year-old bombshell from Philly. She became a Nashville girl just 5 years ago! She is engaged to be married this fall, and has 2 furry 4-legged kiddos at home. She has been working in the hospitality industry for an impressive 17 years, and is currently the General Manager of a local hotel. For fun, she enjoys traveling, laying on the beach, and cooking.
Prior to booking, what hesitations did you have about a boudoir shoot?
"I hate having my photo taken. Unless there is a snapchat filter on it, LOL. I have also struggled with self esteem issues my entire life so doing a boudoir shoot was definitely out of my comfort zone."
What specifically made you give us a call?
"I am getting remarried this fall and since I hate having my photo taken, I figured I would do a boudoir shoot to get comfortable in front of the camera since I have to take pictures for the wedding. Nothing like jumping in head first. I thought about it for weeks. Then I saw the ad for the flash sale and boom, I booked the session!"
Was your session a gift for anyone special? Or was this one just for you?
"I wanted the album to be a present for my fiance. But actually, looking back at everything, it was more of a present for myself."
How did your session with The Adore Girls differ from what you were expecting before entering our studio?
"I loved that the studio was in a house. It made walking in more comfortable and inviting. It also gave such an imitate backdrop for all of the photos taken."
How did your session impact you as a woman?
"When we did the head shots, I was like oh no. I didn't want head shots. And then I saw them and was like wait....that is me? I couldn't believe what I saw - it wasn't who I normally saw in the mirror at home. After we finished the shoot, I walked out seeing myself in a different light. More confidence. More love for my 'flaws'. I was proud of myself for doing something that I never thought I would have the confidence to do. I did the session without going on the diet and losing 10 lbs or getting Botox to hide the flaws. It was all me."
What was your favorite part of the boudoir experience?
"J&C made everything about the experience fun and laid-back. They don't judge - they celebrate. Hair and makeup was fun because I never spend time on myself like that."
If you could give advice to a woman who was on the fence about booking a session, what would you tell her?
"Don't be scared - jump in head first and just do it. Live in the moment and enjoy everything that you are. You won't regret it!"
