Featured Girl Friday - Miss D
Miss D’s story is one of incredible transformation! She walked in our studio with great hesitation and worry, but left with her head held high and full of confidence! We had a blast with her in our Murfreesboro studio, Music City Boudoir, and would love for you to see these amazing results of our shoot!
Miss D is a 30 year-old TN resident who originally comes from California. She is engaged to be married, and together they own a chiropractic office and wellness clinic. She says that her proudest accomplishment is “Opening our clinic and seeing the amazing impact we've been able to make in the community. Helping people avoid surgery, get their quality of life back, and find pain relief. It's an indescribable feeling of humility and pride for what we've built together!”
Prior to booking, what hesitations did you have about a boudoir shoot?
“Where do I start?! I thought it would be incredibly awkward... I was worried I would hate the pictures and be frustrated that I spent the money. I almost felt like it was inappropriate or wrong for me to do this in the first place. I was self-conscious and thought I had no business trying to be ‘sexy’ on camera. I genuinely almost had an anxiety attack the night before and thought about cancelling. “
What specifically made you give us a call?
“I saw pictures that a friend of mine had done with The Adore Girls and they were AMAZING! I figured if she can do it, why can't I?!? I also know that even though I'm incredibly hard on myself, my fiancé thinks I'm stunning and this gift will mean the world to him. It was my way of saying to him, ‘I may not be 100% comfortable in my own skin quite yet, but you give me all the confidence I need to do this.’ I know he is going to be so proud of me when he sees the pictures because he will know how far outside of my comfort zone I went to do this for him.“
Was your session a gift for anyone special? Or was this one just for you?
“I'm getting married in December so this is a pre-wedding gift for my fiancé!”
How did your session with The Adore Girls differ from what you were expecting before entering our studio?
“The shoot couldn't have been more different from what I expected. Everything was so laid back, no pressure, and a ton of fun. Jamie is so approachable, relatable, encouraging and friendly that she eased my nerves right away. She had me laughing and feeling good about myself from the moment I walked in the door. I'm not sure how she managed to keep it from getting awkward, but there wasn't a single second that I felt uncomfortable.”
How did your session impact you as a woman?
“This was such an empowering experience for me. When I saw my pictures, I genuinely felt beautiful and sexy. And not because they photoshop pictures like crazy, but because they help you to come alive on camera and shine through. It was one of the first times that I felt like I got to see myself through my fiancé's eyes for a moment and appreciate who I am as a woman.”
What was your favorite part of the boudoir experience?
“My favorite part was the fact that they work you up to the more revealing photos, that way you have time to get comfortable. I ended up showing a lot more skin than I thought I would be comfortable with walking in there, but it's because I genuinely was so empowered and relaxed that it didn't scare me to get vulnerable in that way. I'm amazed that in such a short amount of time I was able to ease into my own skin like that, but I'm really proud of myself for doing so... and I know he will get better pictures from it now :)”
If you could give advice to a woman who was on the fence about booking a session, what would you tell her?
“PLEASE do it! You DESERVE to get dressed up, be pampered, feel sexy and feel zero guilt about it! Life is way too short to not take risks now and then... and this one has such an amazing payoff. You're gorgeous, and it's about time you feel that way <3“
