Featured Girl Friday - Miss B
We are just in LOVE with these images from our Featured Adore Girl this week! Miss B is so much fun to be around, and her session portrayed just how amazing and happy she truly is! It was an absolute pleasure getting to know her and create a visual representation of her grace and beauty!
Miss B is a 40-year-old from Green Bay, WI. She is happily single with 2 fur babies at home!
Prior to booking, what hesitations did you have about a boudoir shoot?
"I feel my biggest hesitation wasn't so much about me, but what would everyone think; for instance, my friends and family. I may have had the typical I don't feel confident enough or I don't 'feel' pretty enough, but what would everyone think once I told them I was doing this. Now that it's done, some know I went, some don't. I realized it didn't matter so much what people thought, it's what I wanted."
What specifically made you give us a call?
"I have friends who went to other photographers for boudoir and it looked amazing. That's when the gears really started turning and I noticed a post that someone made for this company on Facebook. I took a look at the pictures and fell in love with the work! I knew, then, that when the time was right I would contact you to set my session up."
Was your session a gift for anyone special? Or was this one just for you?
"For me, it was for me. I turned 40 this year and wanted to do something special for myself. Talk about going outside the box! I love helping people and seeing how I have helped, but for once I wanted something for myself. I can honestly say, it was the most empowering experience I have ever had."
How did your session with The Adore Girls differ from what you were expecting before entering our studio?
"How I pictured it in my mind is, kinda how it all happened. What I didn't expect at all was how amazing Courtney was with listening to me, and then creating the idea within the picture. I wasn't expecting that my ideas would come to life within a photo. My mind was the 'she'll tell me where to pose, what to do, how to look.' That happened to some extent, but she was willing to listen and find out who I was and created that with her artistic eye."
How did your session impact you as a woman?
"I'm a very introspective person, so living in my head is a natural occurrence. For me, this shoot made me realize I need to get out of my head so much and recognize what amazing things are happening around me. That being creative and unique is so much more joyful and authentic than I ever knew. This session made me realize that taking a risk and going outside of your comfort zone - is a good thing."
What was your favorite part of the boudoir experience?
"Everything about the experience was my favorite. I can't just pick one thing out. From getting my hair and makeup done. To changing into my outfits. To getting into poses in different rooms. It truly was all my favorite. Being listened to and having a conversation about life was probably my favorite part. It wasn't this 'stand here-do this.' It felt like two close friends hanging out and having a good time. LIterally the whole thing was the ultimate experience. One I will remember for a lifetime."
If you could give advice to a woman who was on the fence about booking a session, what would you tell her?
"DO IT! We all have our flaws. I'm tall, long arms, long legs and skinny. I have been thin-shamed most of my life. Needless to say going into this I was a bit freaked because of all that. Don't let your flaws and excuses creep in and deter you from doing this. What I thought was the most awkward pose, didn't turn out that way behind the lens. I was stunned how amazing the picture looked! Everyone there creates art. To your hair and makeup-all the way to the end. What they see is beyond anything I could have ever seen or thought up. They are true artists, that treat you like family. So your excuses, throw them to the wind. Create a memory that will last forever. Take a risk like I did. I know I'll be going back again for another amazing experience."
