Miss T is a 28 year-old bombshell from Bowling Green, KY. She is happily married, and has too many blessings in her life to pick a favorite accomplishment! Miss T works in hospitality and tourism by day, and dabbles in some non-profit fundraising on the side. But, she says that she would almost always rather be listening to a Monkees album or watching Bonanza.

Prior to booking, what hesitations did you have about a boudoir shoot?

“My deepest hesitation was deciding how private I should be about the shoot. I was referred by a friend and decided to keep it a surprise for my man. But in terms of finding a network of women who were going through the same emotions and feelings as I was--and were comfortable enough to talk to one another--that was something I never expected.”

What specifically made you give us a call?

“As soon as I heard about the Adore Girls through a friend, I just knew I had to do a session. I discovered the studio during the start of the seasonally depressing winter months and realized I was no longer fitting into any of my clothes. All my pants and sweaters were too small and I'd been wearing nothing but leggings and tunics. I finally admitted to myself that I'd gained upwards of 50 pounds since starting a full-time desk job nearly 4 years prior. I was lethargic and lacked any personal drive; somewhat depressed and just drudging through the everyday routine. I was also beginning a part-time media career and didn't feel like my true self on camera. So I used my session to turn my life upside down. I found the motivation to change my lifestyle and get back to a healthier version of me. I went from doing zero physical activity and eating poorly every day to exercising six days a week and following a diet plan with homemade meals and juices. After six months of dedication and hard work, I was feeling great with a new vigor for life for the first time in almost 5 years--turns out I lost over 40 pounds by the time my shoot came around. Ended up losing almost 60 pounds by the time my second shoot happened!”

Was your session a gift for anyone special? Or was this one just for you?

“When I made the plunge to actually book a session, it gave me the motivation I needed to become a healthy me again. I'd fallen off the wagon in terms of personal confidence, energy levels, and the general excitement that life brings. I was stressed out across many of my daily worlds and instead of fighting back, I'd just let things slide--you know what I mean? This session turned into not only an amazing gift for my man, but also for me.”

How did your session with The Adore Girls differ from what you were expecting before entering our studio?

“This was my first time getting both my hair and make-up professionally done and I was nervous about it. I'd experienced a freak accident just a couple weeks before my shoot where I was left with 24 stitches between my eyes and across an eyebrow. I had a couple black eyes and swollen cheeks for over a week! I sent Jamie and Courtney a photo of the accident's aftermath and they were so understanding and patient--they let me reschedule my shoot for two months later since my new scars needed time to heal before Sarah Kaye could work her make-up magic. Can you even tell I have two large scars between my eyes and brows in any of my photos? I was sure they would be visible, but surely not! The Adore Girls are geniuses and made my biggest insecurity go away with a couple strokes of a brush. When it came to the session, Jamie was on vacation, so Courtney and I had a blast moving furniture and trying new things! It was easy to keep an open mind with Courtney constantly moving furniture and the plants. I had no idea what she was doing most of the time, but it was funny to watch the magic at work in between taking breathers from arching my back and pointing my toes in those heels.  I was sore the next day from the awkward stretches though, no kidding!”

How did your session impact you as a woman?

“The session gave me more confidence than I was expecting. It made me want to continue my new healthy lifestyle. I even had the courage to take a new career path, and I owe that extra boost to my session. Jamie and Courtney invited me to be part of the Adore Girls Project, where we talked about overcoming our insecurities and the diverse reasons why any woman would ever want a boudoir session. It was incredible to hear stories of empowered women channeling their inner fire to overcome trauma and adversity. I even booked another session to see the progress and changes in my demeanor after several months of living this newly-rediscovered me. The second session was much more laid back and felt more natural, probably because I was expecting the weird stretching and poses this time ha! Anytime I'm having a bad day, I glance through the photos on my app to remind myself that anything is possible.“

What was your favorite part of the boudoir experience?

“I don't wear much make-up. The moments when Sarah Kaye revealed what I looked like with the hair (done the right way, nothing I could do alone at home!) and make-up--they left me dumbfounded. Who was that person in the mirror? I never knew my eyes or hair could do that. Why have I not been doing this everyday??”

What was his reaction like when you showed your husband the images?

“He had no idea I'd been losing weight with that as an extra incentive. I wanted to wait until our anniversary to give it to him, but when the gorgeous photo book arrived it was just too difficult to hold onto it for myself. The anticipation was killing me! He breezed through it really quickly the first time, just too giddy. Then went back and actually started looking through the photos to see what he'd missed.”

If you could give advice to a woman who was on the fence about booking a session, what would you tell her?

“Do it. Without hesitation. A session will affect your whole outlook on life. For me, it was about finding the inner strength and motivation to accomplish a real-time goal that would make me feel better physically, emotionally, and mentally. What will it be about for you?”
